The Visitation Congregation of the Blessed Virgin Mary was established for women in the Diocese of Kottayam, in the Syro- Malabar Church in Kerala. It was founded by Bishop Mar Mathew Makkil on 24th June 1892 at Kaipuzha, with the primary aim of empowering the women through education
